Treasure hunting it is! If you ever get tired of fast-paced games on the grid, you could always slow down with Starfish Treasure Hunt. The latest event is going to be held on May 18, 2008. You could always regard it as checking in on your luck by seeing if you can snatch any freebies from the hunt if not as a game. Starfishes loaded with prizes, will be scattered all around and between islands. Go to http://secondlife.com/events/event.php?id=1480090&date=1211099400 for the event details.
And if you start having a soft spot for treasure hunting, there’s also the Scavenger Hunt. In 2007, the hunt was held for a community cause (http://www.themsfly.org/). The Second Life events portal, http://secondlife.com/events/, has most events covered. You can check up on the next Scavenger Hunt there. All in all, you could have fun, win some prize and even contribute to the health community.
Mob Mentality, a new adult themed game designed to be placed in Second Life Clubs and Strip Clubs, is now available! The game offers fun and sexy game play designed to enhance a club goers experience and create a more social environment as players interact while playing.
Zaplok Riggles, the games developer, had this to say: “I designed the game from the ground up to work well in an adult club environment. The questions are sexy and sure to get people talking. The game uses a HUD so there is no annoying chat spam and means the game can be played anywhere in the club while dancing, chatting, etc. I work closely with my game owners keeping the game fresh with new questions and free updates. We also have an innovative pricing structure to allow any club to quickly begin earning money with the game with zero upfront costs.”
For more information on the game, visit the game’s web page: http://www.mobmentality.com/mobmentality You can also send an IM to Zaplok Riggles to setup an in-game demonstration.
The first of many En Garde open tournaments will be held this Saturday, January 26th. These tournaments will happen every other weekend at different locations around Second Life. This time La Musique hosts the event.
Everyone can enter this elimination tournament, for 50L, and the winner and runner up splits the collected pot that day. The champion also gets a nice trophy for his/her achievement.
More details and a schedule of planned tournament locations so far can be found at Kat Burgers webpage:

Maybe you recognize someone among the Top 10 winners.
Gallery Beleza is accepting entries in their dragon photo contest from 6 December through the 26 December. Second Life screenshots, manipulated or not, are eligible. It’s a dragon photo contest, therefore photos must have a dragon in them - I know, I know, you saw that coming : D Information on how to enter is after the fold. Read the rest of this entry ?
Kat Burger invites everyone to join her Top 10 Competition of skillgames, running December 16-23. If you like playing those gridgames, do check it out.

Have you ever wondered who the best skillgame player is? Maybe you think you are the one. Now there’s a chance to find out. Etheria Parrott, one of the creative Tiny citizens of Raglan Shire, has devised a contest that promises to be excellent fun for both participants and those who like to watch and cheer. An ice sculpty sculpture contest! It sounds like just the thing to help us get into the holiday spirit, and is part of a month of winter activities at Raglan Shire. Note that one needn’t be a Tiny to enter, and bear in mind that the resulting ice sculpture garden will be, I believe, an excellent place for photographers to visit. Judging will take place on the 16th, but sculptures will remain up all month. Contest details are after the fold. Read the rest of this entry ?

Although I’m not a role player I do enjoy wandering around in such places. Dystopian fantasies appeal to me and there are a few lovely ones in Second Life that have attracted fiercely loyal followers, but due to the current nature of SL with its sim-caps and peak-time lag (not to speak of the nature of Mankind itself in all its variety), it’s nice to have new places to explore.
A new role-play sim, housing the post-apocalyptic Felonhall City, is opening on the 13 November at 3pm SLT, and I paid a visit and spoke with Chaos Bikcin about this gritty place and its denizens.
Aglarond Elvenvalley is holding their first wizardry tournament at 12:30pm today, using the Huddles Wizardry system. There is a good turn-out, and although most seem to be sim frequenters there are a few strangers, I think, like me. I’ve never been to a wizardry competition (that I remember, anyway), so I’m looking forward to the event.
